Cyber Conflict Curriculum

Delta Risk's curriculum of 30+ courses teaches our students to be cyberpower strategists.  Cyber conflict is the strategic clash, usually between nations, using cyberpower to achieve essential objectives.  It is quickly becoming the another arm of nationa power, even as organized crime and terrorist groups expore its boundaries.  The Cyber Conflict Curriculum breaks new ground, being the first program rooted in national security theories but adapted to the technical realities of cyberspace.

Why a Cyber Conflict Curriculum? The curriculum is driven by Delta Risk's experience at the White House and Wall Street; at the Pentagon, cyber warfighting task forces, and ISACs; and on the Council on Foreign Relations.  Delta Risk has observed that all too often, cyber conflict is treated as a technical issue, rather than a national security problem.  The whitehat cyberspace virtuosos and national security elite rarely understand each other's persepective.  There are technical and national security experts, but too few cyberpower strategists.

Accordingly, this curriculum is designed for geeks who want to understand the national security implications fo their field, and policy wonks, spooks, and warfighters looking for a deeper understanding of conflict in the new domain of cyberspace.

What is the Cyber Conflict Curriculum? The curriculum has six tracks with 30+ classes all designed to explore the similarities and differents between cyber conflict and other information security or national security topics.  There are many excellent companies and universities focusing on technical skills, but few efforts to link these topics to their national security context.  The Cyber Conflict Curriculum therefore does not teach how to adminster firewalls, audit logs, or emulate hackers.  It focuses solely on cyber conflict.

The Certificate of Cyber Conflict Studies. The Cyber Conflict Curriculum will give a boost to students on any of five career paths: cyber policy making, offense operations, defense operations, offensive intelligence analyst, and defensive intelligence analyst.  Students completing the three "core" and one of the "core option" classes will be awarded a Certificate of Cyber Conflict Studies to reflect they have studied the basic and advanced topics in their chosen field.  Learn the big picture and strengthn your resume.
